COACH WRITES CHECK TO FAN

A coach for the University of Oregon got an email from a fan who traveled to a road game saying he was not happy with how the team played and the guy asked for his money back from the trip, 439 dollars. The coach wrote him a check saying he was sorry for the team’s performance. WOW, first of all how crazy is it that a fan writes an email to the coach and asks for the money back and second the coach sends him a check. A fan has zero right to ask for their money back from a game that has been played. If for a number of reasons the game is not played ie weather, violence at the arena/stadium you should get your money back. You should not want to/ask for your money back for poor performance. Should you ask for you money back from the director when you see a bad movie? No. If your meal is bad at a restaurant do you go in the kitchen and ask the chef for your money back? No. How about a concert? I have been to concerts where the show started 3 hours late did anybody ask for their money back, No. What is it about sports that make people lose their mind? Is it the money, I hear people say all the time athletes make too much money but no one ever says that an actor makes too much or a singer makes too much or a host of a tv show makes too much or CEOs of companies. Let me lay it out for you Kobe Bryant made 21 million dollars last season in salary and another 24 million in endorsements total: 45 million. Thats playing 105 games. Harrison Ford made 65 million dollars and did 2 movies last year. Oprah made 275 million and Rush Limbaugh (radio host) signed a 8 year 400 million dollar deal. Where is the outrage on that? Are people really that upset with athletes because it’s “just a game”or are you just born a great athlete and really didn’t have to work to achieve it? When was the last time you or someone you know said “no athlete is worth that kind of money” and now think when was the last time you heard someone say that actor/actress is not worth 20 million dollars a movie? It’s all entertainment.
