FIRST DAY HOME

This afternoon we came home from the hospital after my daughter’s birth on Wednesday. Here in Belgium its normal for the baby and mother to stay in the hospital for 5 days. 5 days that’s a long, long, long, long time.  In the States you have the baby and if the baby is ok and the mother is not bleeding the hospital makes you leave. I am happy to be at home and the nurses, doctors and the hospital were great but I am glad to be back home with my new baby girl.

On Wednesday when my wife’s water broke, guess where I was?  That’s right playing basketball lol that’s right I was at the gym. When I play basketball I never take my cell phone (gsm) in the gym but that morning my wife told me ‘make sure you take your phone” so I took my phone .  But my sim card was off , the one time I take and need my phone it doesn’t work.  So my sister-in-law who was with my wife took the team directory and started to call every guy on our team and no one answered until she called Odell (who was at his house). Odell called our coach and luckily he was in the gym, I got on the phone and Odell told me that my wife’s water broke and believe me when I tell you i was like Lewis Hamilton driving to the hospital.  My wife gave birth as fast as I was driving we got to the hospital at 5:20 and she  gave birth at 7:07 and its our first babyIMGA0083.DSC01467
