FIRST GAME OF THE YEAR
Yesterday I played my first game of the season in Cyprus. Where I signed to play for Etha, the 4th place team. I arrived in Cyprus on Friday morning (3:30) had practice at 10 and then at 7 and the coach told me you are playing in the game tomorrow. We played the 5th place on the road, the road games are like they are in Belgium so this road trip was like 1 hour. The gym was by far one of the coldest gyms I have ever played in it was colder inside than out. The gym held about 3,000 seats but there were only about 75 people there, no joke 75. Before the game the coach pulls me aside to go through the plays on offense and defense and says I hope you remember all of them. I really didn’t think I was going to play, the 1st quarter goes by and 5 minutes into the 2nd quarter the coach turns to me and says “new guy go in”. I played the last 5 minutes of the 2nd quarter I had 5 points and 1 rebound and we were winning 32-31. To start the 3rd quarter i am with the first 5 and played most of the rest of the game till I fouled out (of course says my wife) we won the game 85-75. I finished with 15 points 3 rebounds 2 assists in 23 minutes 2-3 from 2, 3-3 from 3 and 2-2 from the free throw line. Our next game is Friday in the semi-finals of the cup.
