GREAT SHOOTERS
Last night I watched Ray Allen break the all time 3 point record beating Reggie Miller. The 2 best shooters to ever live. These guys were the 2 guys I looked up to the most and tried to emulate what they do/did in their careers. Reggie played 17 years in the NBA and shot 39% from 3 88% from the free throw line while averaging 18 points per game. Thats amazing stuff for a guy “ who could not create his own shot”, for all the people who complain about players(like myself) who can’t create their own shot Reggie was that guy I always watched and saw how he moved without the ball and how much work he put in to be great.
I had a chance to see Ray Allen play live when he was playing for the Milwaukee Bucks and my college coach took me to the game early so I could see how hard Ray worked. I was amazed at watching him warmup, he made 40 3’s in a row (I counted). He did these shooting drills that I do to this day. After he finished his shooting drills he played a shooting contest with Dell Curry (another great shooter) and the were making shots from out-of-bounds that were not even hitting the rim. I am so happy that people are celebrating shooters instead of giving this stigma of “he can only shot”. Being a shooter is not easy it’s not something you are born with you HAVE TO GO OUT AND WORK HARD AND PUT LOTS OF HOURS INTO. You are born a great athlete, you make yourself into a great shooter.
