PLAYOFF TIME

Last night we took on the Kangaroos of Willebroek and just like we thought they are a good team. We won the game 82-72 and it was a nice tune up for the playoffs, because the Kangaroos are a team that is capable of making a run in the playoffs. We are the regular season champions with a record of 23-3 (2 losses and 1 forfeit). We are the best offensive and defensive team in the league scoring more points (2145) and giving up the fewest points (1702),  a margin of 443 points. We have 8 players who average 8.7 points or higher. Now that it is playoff time the scoring and defense balance is needed more than ever. The playoff system is very very strange this season the first 2 rounds of the playoffs are a 2 game series with an aggregate score to determine the winner and the team with the better record goes on the road first. The aggregate system works like this : you play two games, if you win the first game by 10 points and lose the second game by 9 points you advance because your win was 1 point more than your loss. Which means you don’t have to win both games to advance. In fact a team can have 2 wins and 2 losses and be in the finals (crazy). The finals are a 3 game series. We are trying to make sure what happened last season doesn’t repeat itself….
