TWO IN ONE
This weekend we had two games, one Friday and one on Sunday. Let’s start with Friday’s game against St-Jan, if you remember the first time was the game I got suspended and we lost. So this game was the rematch and their players had been talking trash for weeks about how they were better than us and they were gonna beat us again at home. We won 73-71 and believe me when I tell you we played like crap, we were up 11 points 3 different times during the game. The referees were awful, one play during the game a guy from their team clearly fouled me and the ball went out of bounds and I asked the referee how is that not a foul? And he said this : “I can’t call that foul because you are a professional.” So I guess, there are different rule books for professional players and players that have semi-pro contracts, even if they play on the same team, in the same league. Interesting. I had 2 points in the first half of this game but I finished the game with 25 points ( 3-4 from 2, 5-8 from 3 and 4-5 from the free-throw line), 5rbs, 2 steals and an awful 5 turnovers. But the quote of the game came from their coach. He told me that the reason they play so well against us is because they are the only team in this league that respects us. lol. We are 18-1, we don’t need the teams to respect us, our job is to go out there and win games.
Second game of this weekend was against Zwevezele, at home again. This was a weird game, we won 81-52. Before you say this game was easy, these are the scores at the end of each quarter 29-9, 43-26, 55-43, 81-52. As you can tell, this game was full of runs, they would make runs then we would make runs. We took them lightly in the second half and they got within 12 going in the fourth quarter and then we made it a blowout. I finished the game with 13 points (4-4 from 2, 1-5 from 3 and 2-3 from the free-throw line), 10 rbs, 6 assists and only one turnover.
