UGLY
Yesterday we played Charleroi -not THE Charleroi but Essor Charleroi – and like the title says the game was U G L Y. We couldn’t make a shot, they couldn’t make a shot, I would like to say it was great defense but it was just bad offense. Just like every game we play the opposing team came out aggressive, trying to win the game in the first 5 minutes, trying to show they can beat us. We didn’t start off well, and it took us 5-6 minutes to get into the groove of the game. They were playing us extra physical and we turned up the intensity to match them. To show you how physical it was there were two incidents, the first one was Tom van Camp (our SF) elbows a guy from their team and the second incident was a power screen (legal) from Big O (our center) layed out their point guard for two minutes, true soccer style. This starts a near fight between our fans and their fans, a fan from Charleroi went over to our fans and had his finger in our fan’s face and this started a flurry of their fans flipping us and our fans off, and this all happened before half time. During half time, the locker rooms are downstairs from the court and a couple of their fans ran down and started screaming at our coaching staff, in French (which was probably better because we don’t understand). In the second half we overpowered the team who played extremely hard and physical. We won 62-55 my stats for the game were: 11 points 3-12 shooting (2-7 from 3) 4 rebounds and 3 assists. So you understand why i say the game was UGLY….
